Scott Eccles

Owner

Scott grew up in Ancaster and graduated from Ancaster High School. Scott first completed a two-year business program at Niagara College and was on the Presidents list for obtaining the highest marks. In 2003 Scott entered the family business and completed his apprenticeship at Mohawk College. He received the “Top Automotive Service Technician Advanced Student” award upon completion of his apprenticeship. Soon after, he became a certified Automotive Service Technician. In 2007, Scott moved into the office and started to help manage the business. In 2019 Scott purchased his family business, ensuring the legacy of Eccles Auto Service’s quality workmanship and customer service continues for many years to come. In 2023 Scott was a recipient of the 2023 Mohawk College Alumni of Distinction Award.

Bruce Eccles

Founder

Bruce opened Eccles Auto Service in 1984 with a commitment to providing exceptional automotive service. Bruce is definitely a people person. He always enjoys talking and meeting with clients, new and old. He is an active member of the Dundas Valley Sunrise Rotary Club and was awarded a Paul Harris Fellowship Award in 2005. Bruce also worked on a focus group created by the Ontario Government to assist in the implementation of the Drive Clean program and has sat on many automotive advisory boards, including ACDelco and AARO. Bruce is well recognized and respected in the automotive industry and even writes a column in a national trade magazine.

Bruce is now semi-retired but is often spotted at the shop still. When Bruce is not working, he enjoys spending his free time in cottage country or in Florida. Bruce and his wife have three children and now three grandchildren!

Anne Durand

Senior Service Advisor

Anne grew up in Dundas and graduated from Parkside High School. She started working for Eccles Auto Service in 1990. She uses her 30 years of experience to help give our clients the best service possible. Anne enjoys talking and getting to know our clients. She has three children and five grandchildren she is very proud of. Anne has developed a love for the game of golf and can be seen doing the par dance on many local golf courses.

Jim Lawton

Service Advisor / General Manager

Jim was born and raised in Westdale. He graduated from Westdale High School. He started his career at City Chevrolet in downtown Hamilton and is a GM ASEP certified technician. In 2010, Jim started down a new career path joining the Eccles Auto Service team as a Service Advisor. He brings his wealth of knowledge and experience for all vehicles under the GM banner with him.
Jim enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 children. When not working he is playing hardball, hockey, golf or spending time relaxing at his cottage.

Shannon McCully

Service Advisor

Shannon was born and raised in Dundas and graduated from Highland Secondary School. She has a Bachelor of Science degree from McMaster University. Shannon has worked in the service industry for over 35 years with the latter portion in the auto industry. She enjoys camping with her family and has been a Cub leader with the Hamilton 31^st Cub pack for the last 15 years.

Matt Pazzi

Lead Service Technician

Matt grew up in Ancaster and graduated from Ancaster High School. He went to Mohawk College for his apprenticeship and is a certified Automotive Service Technician. Matt joined the staff at Uptown Eccles Auto Service in 2010. He continues to add to his automotive skills by going to training sessions throughout the year. Matt is a well-respected Lead Service Technician and has been nominated for multiple Readers’ Choice Awards and won the Platinum Award for Best Mechanic in 2023.
Matt spends his time off with his wife and 2 dogs. He enjoys playing golf and watching NASCAR.

Charlotte Rea

Licenced Technician

Charlotte grew up in Hamilton and graduated from Sherwood Secondary School.
She then attended Mohawk College for Motive Power, which she graduated in 2020. Soon after she began her apprenticeship in the automotive repair field. Charlotte joined our team in early 2022.

Chris Kubas

Licenced Technician

Chis grew up in Dundas and graduated from Dundas Valley Secondary School. Chris has had many roles within Eccles Auto Service already. He did his high school Co-op with us and cleaned the shop floors while attending high school. After working in other fields for a few years Chris came back to help us with tire season. We signed him up as an apprentice in 2020.
Chris loves dogs and in his free time enjoys playing hockey.

Claire Eccles

Administration

Claire grew up in Dundas and graduated from Parkside High School. After that she attended Sheridan College. Claire and Bruce started the business together in 1984, where she has done the bookkeeping and other administrative tasks that help keep the business running.

Claire puts great value on family and her friends. She is very active and always on the move. You can catch her going for walks, playing golf or frisbee golf. Claire enjoys spending her free time with her 3 grandchildren.

Cam Aiello

Licenced Technician

Cam was born and raised on the central mountain. He graduated from Sir Allan Macnab secondary school. After trying a few different trades and career paths, including plumbing like his Dad. Cam settled in automotive. Cam signed up for my apprenticeship in 2020 and continuing to work towards his License. In his free time he plays and records music with his band and he loves spending time with his dog

Beckett Schefold

Apprentice

Beckett grew up in Waterdown and graduated from St. Mary Catholic Secondary School in 2023 with a Specialist High Skills Major in automotive service. During his time at St. Mary, he completed two co-op placements with Eccles and worked after school and summers cleaning and painting the shop as well as assisting technicians with their work. In 2023 Beckett signed on as an apprentice. In his free time, Beckett loves rock climbing, skiing, and going to car shows.

Kyle Vandendool

Lead Diagnostic Tech

Kyle joined the Eccles Auto Service team in the Fall of 2023 as a Lead Diagnostic Tech. He is a Niagara College graduate and brings with him over 15+ years of industry experience, including nine years at a Toyota dealership.

Kyle is passionate about continuing education and frequently attends industry training programs to remain top of his field; this includes a focus on electric vehicles and electric vehicle diagnostics.

He resides in Caledonia with his wife and three children. In a rare moment of free time, he can be found playing golf or cheering on the Leafs (may be a lost cause). Kyle is also a minor hockey league coach and is the head coach for both of his sons’ hockey teams.

We had an emergency situation - nail in a tire just before an important long distance drive - and in spite of being booked solid they found a way to squeeze us in and fix the tire. Saved us from having to rent a car and earned even more loyalty to this great family owned garage. A low tyre pressure led to an inspection and identified damage to a tyre and not safe to drive. Eccles worked hard immediately to find a replacement winter tire and fit.

I had a leak in my tire and I took it to Eccles Auto Service, they couldn't repair it immediately but their shuttle driver took me home and picked me up a couple of hours later once the tire was repaired. I appreciated not having to wait around. Serena at the reception desk was extremely pleasant.

After moving away from Hamilton for over five years, we moved back to Hamilton and went back to Eccles. Great service. We have two vehicles now. I was wondering about a repair I have had in the past and telephoned my prior mechanic in Toronto and the price difference was $0.50 Great to have my vehicle professionals back. Also, a woman worked on my vehicle. This business is great!

My car was damaged. Eccles gave me a very fair price then warned me it could cost more and take some time to fix. In the end the work was completed earlier than expected. It was even less expensive then quoted. Very grateful to them. I knew they were there in business for a long time, but I never needed them. When I did, they went above and beyond my expectations.
